Multi-part staybolt

Abstract

A bolt section (1a) has wedge surfaces (4) at each end. The top wedge surface (4) has a pin (5) arranged at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the bolt, while the other wedge surface is provided with a bore (6) corresponding to the pin. The wedge surfaces (4) as well as the connection between the pin (5) and the bore (6) enable several bolt sections to be coupled in such a way that they can be inserted into the borehole in any desired rotary direction. The rotary forces necessary for driving in the bolt are transmitted via the pin (5) or the wedge surfaces (4) and the pressure forces are transmitted via the pressure-transmission surfaces (7). In this way, several bolt sections can be coupled one after the other and inserted into the borehole down to the desired depth. <IMAGE>
